With the rising cost of food and rent, many working families (2 parent/single family households) are struggling to make ends meet and are not able to provide healthy, nutritional meals on a daily basis. Our homeless population is also in dire need more so now than ever before. Daytona Deliverance’s food pantry, 5 & 2, is currently open twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Thursday, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. In the near future, it is our hope to expand our hours and days, so the Pantry can be a daily resource to meet the needs of our community. We endeavor to assist in the mission of helping to end hunger in the world, starting with one community at a time. Proverbs 19:17 tells us: “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will repay him for his deed.”
Daytona Deliverance’s food pantry’s name, 5 & 2, is derived from the scripture reference of St. Mark 6:41, where Jesus Christ met the need of a hungry multitude of more than 5,000citizens and followers with a meal donated by a little boy consisting of 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish.
