Fish & Loaves Pantry

With the rising cost of food and rent, many working families (2 parent/single family households) are struggling to make ends meet and are not able to provide healthy, nutritional meals on a daily basis. Our homeless population is also in dire need more so now than ever before. Daytona Deliverance’s food pantry, Fish & Loaves, is currently open twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Thursday, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.  In the near future, it is our hope to expand our hours and days, so the Pantry can be a daily resource to meet the needs of our community.  We endeavor to assist in the mission of helping  to end hunger in the world, starting with one community at a time. Proverbs 19:17 tells us: “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will repay him for his deed.”

Daytona Deliverance’s food pantry’s name, Fish & Loaves, is derived from the scripture reference of St. Mark 6:41, where Jesus Christ met the need of a hungry multitude of more than 5,000citizens and followers with a meal donated by a little boy consisting of 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish.

Adopt – A – School Initiative

Daytona Deliverance is embarking upon a new initiative with the Church of God FL-Cocoa Office to strengthen the relationship between the local church and it’s surrounding community.  For this initiative, the Business Partners Program, we are partnering with a local school in a disenfranchised area of Daytona Beach, Florida.  Our role within this partnership will be to support the students and ultimately to build a relationship with the parents, teachers and staff of the students as well.

We have launched a Christmas School Supply Drive, and we believe this effort will be a great asset to the students and school. We look forward to this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our youth and their future.

Kids Café

Kids Café mission is to assist in the fight against child hunger and illiteracy.  We are a community active outreach that feeds children and their families, as well as the senior and homeless a hot nutritious meal on a monthly basis.  Our focus is to give children the tools they need to succeed through nutrition as well as academically.  Making school supplies available year round, encouraging and celebrating student’s academic achievements are foundational to us.  We believe in the concept of demonstrating that “giving back is essential” in order to make our communities better is crucial in creating and/or sustaining a thriving community.   We provide a mini monthly “Birthday Celebration” by acknowledging our youth and other attendees’ birthdays.   Events we have annually are:  Back to School Giveaway, Friends-giving Thanksgiving Meal, Walk-A-Thon & Fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Hospital entitled  “We Can Help Too!”,  Christmas Meal & Gift Giveaway.  We also highlight honorees on the following celebrations/holidays:  Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Veteran’s Day and Emergency Responders.

Since our inception in 2009, we have served over 9,000 meals and given gifts and school supplies to our community.   Thanks to volunteers and donors, we can reach our objectives.  It is our goal to expand and further our reach and improve our current operations.
